Overview

ReportPiracy.UK is designed to be usable anonymously. This policy explains what information we collect when you submit a piracy report, why we collect it, and how it's protected.

Information we collect

• Report content: the infringing URL(s), the Sky content affected, the platform type, and any additional description you provide.
• Evidence uploads: a screenshot or PDF, if you choose to attach one.
• Email address: entirely optional, used only if we need to follow up on your report.
• Basic abuse-prevention data: a one-way hash of your IP address, used only to detect and throttle automated spam submissions. We do not store your raw IP address, and this hash cannot be used to identify you.

How we use this information

Report data is used solely to review, verify, and act on suspected infringement of Sky content, including generating and submitting copyright takedown notices. Your contact email, if provided, is never shared with the platform hosting the reported content or with the party responsible for it.

Data retention

Reports and associated evidence are retained for as long as necessary to process the report, track its outcome, and maintain a record for internal reporting purposes. Retained data may be deleted periodically once no longer needed.

Cookies

The public reporting site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. The admin area uses a single essential session cookie to keep an authorized administrator signed in.

Your rights

If you provided a contact email and wish to know what information we hold, or to request its deletion, contact us at abuse@reportpiracy.uk. Since most reports are submitted anonymously without any identifying information, we may not be able to locate a specific submission without a reference ID or the email used at submission.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
